La Vélodyssée = Itinéraire Vélo 2017!

Nominated along with the ‘Canal des 2 Mers’, La Vélodyssée won the "Itinéraire Vélo 2017", best cycle route award at the ‘Destinations Nature’ trade fair in Paris on 17th March 2017. The judging panel included several experts involved in the development of cycling tourism in France.

• it is organised by the French Federation for Cycle Tourism, la Fédération Française de Cyclotourisme

• in collaboration with the 'Destinations Nature' Trade Fair, the World Tourism Fair, the association for regional cycling paths, 'Départements & Régions Cyclables', the territorial tourism network, 'Tourisme et Territoires', and the Tourism Journalists' Association, Association des Journalistes de Tourisme

• with the support of the French inter-ministerial authority for the development of cycling, la Coordination Interministérielle pour le Développement de l'Usage du Vélo

• and in partnership with the website, and the bike tourism magazines Cyclotourisme and

partners trophy

With this award, La Vélodyssée has been rewarded for being the most developed cycle route this year in terms of facilities, security, accessibility and reception of cycling tourists.

Our aim (and that of all those who work on the optimisation, maintenance and development of La Vélodyssée) is to enable you - our dear cycling friends - to experience a wonderful « detox » cycling adventure, brimming with discoveries of the delights of the Atlantic coastal territories.

Already 'Cycle route of the year' in 2013!

cycle route 2013Back in 2013, La Vélodyssée had already been voted 'Cycle Route of the Year' by a panel of judges at the Amsterdam Cycling and Hiking Fair in the Netherlands.

The panellists commended, amongst other things, the 70% car-free route, the great diversity of landscapes, and the picturesque and historic villages along the way.
